Personal branding shoot with relationship coaches Janel and Patrick
A personal branding session with Janel and Patrick, who work together as relationship coaches for couples.
I had worked with relationship coach Janel Vitale in 2019. Since then, her real-life partner Patrick has joined her in coaching couples, so they wanted updated photos - some of him by himself, and some of them together.
It’s always fascinating for me to photograph men vs. women. While women deal with a lot of issues around body image and self-confidence around photos, they’re also much more used to being photographed. Men, on the other hand, are not often used to being the subject of photos, and tend to get awkward and self-conscious in front of a camera.
As a photographer, I’ve learned that working with men and getting them to express genuine emotion while being relaxed can be an art in itself!
In this shoot, having Janel on set helped a lot, as she exuded her natural bubbly funny nature and helped Patrick relax and smile naturally.
